SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR (Title 32)

As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR (Title 32), WS-5801-10, you will supervise workers directly or through subordinate leaders and/or supervisors in accomplishing work of the function. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:
Plan work operations of great scope, complexity, and administrative authority. Determine the sequence, priority, and time for performance of operations within the limits of broad work schedules and time limits. Plan use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Review funding requirements, prioritizes request and allocates funding based on readiness, training, and mobilization requirements. Recommend solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operations directed by other supervisors. Effectively, efficiently, and economically make adjustments as necessary to maximize production, accomplish specified tasks, and manage resources. Ensure all aspects of Force Protection to include physical security, facility and vehicle key control, property accountability, access control and employee protection in accordance with established policies and regulations. AREA OF CONSIDERATION:
The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code 709), will be in the following manner and sequence, The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership. The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens. Military Grades:
Officer/Warrant/Enlisted - Minimum rank of E-7. GENERAL
Experience:
Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
WS-10 Level - Must have 36 months of or training diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying more complex vehicles, equipment, and more complicated systems; experience which has provided a thorough knowledge of diagnostic equipment; experience applying independent judgment in determining methods and techniques required to solve unusually complex maintenance and repair problems; experienced in testing, inspecting, and evaluating the work performed on vehicles, equipment and systems. SUPERVISORY POSITION SPECIALIZED
Experience:
In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel; experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines; experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function; experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes; and experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
