Compliance Manager

  GENERAL SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Compliance Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining a strong compliance culture through the effective planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of the Bank's adherence to all applicable federal and state consumer protection laws and regulations including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act and Community Reinvestment Act.     DESCRIPTION OF PRIMARY DUTIES: Develop, implement, maintain, and monitor the Bank's compliance management system to ensure consistent adherence to all applicable federal and state regulatory requirements impacting operations and customers. Serve as the Bank's Privacy Officer and provide direct supervision and leadership support to the BSA & Fraud Officer and CRA Officer to ensure each area maintains a proven track record of compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Identify, track, and analyze additions and changes in law, regulation, or guidance introduced by both federal and state authorities impacting Bank operations and customers. Develop a strong change management process for the communication and implementation of new regulatory requirements. Maintain a strong compliance culture driven by an effective Compliance Committee. Serve as the chair of the Compliance Committee setting agendas for monthly meetings, maintaining minutes, and reporting actions to the Board of Directors. Provide guidance and support to all business units regarding regulatory compliance.Conduct research, as necessary, to address questions and implementation efforts. Partner with business units to ensure the ongoing maintenance and effectiveness of respective compliance activities, policies, and procedures. Maintain a current knowledge of all Bank-related federal and state laws and regulations and monitor legislative and regulatory developments. Coordinate the gathering of information requested during consumer compliance examinations and develop responses to any related findings. Coordinate with the Bank's Training Manager to ensure appropriate compliance training programs are offered and completed by Bank personnel. Cross-sell bank products and services in a professional manner. Complete required training associated with job function. Perform other duties as assigned.   SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Broad-based knowledge of the various federal and state laws and regulations surrounding all aspects of the Bank's operations. High level of analytical skills and ability to work with department managers to modify existing Bank processes and procedures to ensure adherence to changes in regulatory requirements while maintaining high levels of customer service. Good organizational skills and ability to supervise many areas simultaneously. Strong written and oral communication skills to ensure effective dissemination of complex regulatory requirements to impacted Bank personnel. Effective coaching and leadership skills to facilitate career development of direct reports. High level of confidence and integrity in order to maintain independent judgment and privacy of customer and Bank information.   EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENT: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and/or commensurate bankingexperience. Minimum of ten years bankingexperience with at least five years direct experience in the federal and state regulatory environment impacting the banking industry. Designation as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Managerpreferred or willingness to obtain after first year in role.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
